The Lucozade sign, Brentford, 1984 and the Holy Grail

Recently, the iconic Art Deco Lucozade sign has returned to Brentford, not to the exact same spot as the original building has been demolished but it looks very much like it did before. It was once suggested that the lights would be stored in Gunnersbury Park museum and a modernised updated version would be installed instead. On this occasion the Kingston Zodiac decided to keep the legacy code intact and just drag and drop it to a nearby memory address space.

Best viewed at night when the lights are more visible, it serves as an unofficial marker that says you will soon be entering London proper (depending on congestion on the A4).

The eternally pouring magic bottle that ‘replaces lost energy’ into a glass almost takes on grail-like dimensions considering its proximity to Osterley Park, the sign of Aquarius as well as the holy grail of the Kingston Zodiac.

But it is the synchromystical connection to Orwell’s 1984, set in London, that intrigues us the most, especially as his once tutor at Eton, Aldous Huxley set scenes from Brave New World in Brentford too which we’ll come to next in a separate post.

Although the Lucozade sign had yet to be built when Eric Blair finished his seminal masterpiece, we feel in synchromystical terms linear time-frames become somewhat irrelevant when tapping into the timeless realms of mysticism as we sense Orwell had knowingly or unknowingly done. Particularly so with regards to 1984 where dates and history had been confused by The Party.

‘It struck him that the man’s whole life was playing a part, and that he felt it to be dangerous to drop his assumed personality even for a moment. O’Brien took the decanter by the neck and filled up the glasses with a dark-red liquid. It aroused in Winston dim memories of something seen long ago on a wall or a hoarding — a vast bottle composed of electric lights which seemed to move up and down and pour its contents into a glass. Seen from the top the stuff looked almost black, but in the decanter it gleamed like a ruby. It had a sour-sweet smell. He saw Julia pick up her glass and sniff at it with frank curiosity.’

During World War II, the Political Warfare Executive (PWE) was a British clandestine body created to produce and disseminate both white and black propaganda, with the aim of damaging enemy morale and sustaining the morale of the Occupied countries.

The Executive was formed in August 1941, reporting to the Foreign Office. The staff came mostly from SO1, which had been until then the propaganda arm of the Special Operations Executive. The organisation was governed by a committee initially comprising among others Anthony Eden (Foreign Secretary), Brendan Bracken (Minister of Information) and Hugh Dalton (Minister of Economic Warfare) (they were more forthright in those days).

PWE included staff from the Ministry of Information, the propaganda elements of the Special Operations Executive, and from the BBC. Its main headquarters was at Woburn Abbey with London offices at the BBC’s Bush House. As the Political Warfare Executive was a secret department when dealing with the outside world PWE used the cover-name ‘Political Intelligence Department’ (PID).

After D-Day most of PWE’s white propaganda staff transferred to the Psychological Warfare Division (PWD/SHAEF) of SHAEF.

At the end of World War II PWE were tasked with the re-education of German Prisoners of War. As with different types of propaganda, PWE used the same ‘white’, ‘grey’, and ‘black’ classifications for German POWs. Prisoners classed as ‘black’ were considered dangerous ardent Nazis, with anti-Nazis classed as ‘white’ and regular non-political soldiers classed as ‘grey’.

Hacking terms such as white-hats, black-hats and grey-hats use the same classification system even if the terminology has been turned on its head in our Orwellian existence where black is white and white is black. Aaron Barr of HBGary infamy is an example of this.

Sir Hugh Carleton Greene was a British journalist and television executive. He was the Director-General of the BBC from 1960―1969, and is generally credited with modernising an organisation that had fallen behind in the wake of the launch of ITV in 1955.

From 1941, Greene also helped to smooth the relationship between the BBC and the PWE whose goals were somewhat at odds (the BBC strove for accurate, unbiased journalism whereas the PWE was largely concerned with propaganda).

Bush House

In his novel 1984, Orwell named Room 101 after a conference room at Bush House where he used to sit through tedious meetings. When one of the possible original room 101s at the BBC was due to be demolished, a plaster cast was made by artist Rachel Whiteread for posterity.

Orwell worked in Bush House between 1941 and 1943 and the building is said to have given him the idea, when writing 1984, both for the nightmarish Room 101 and the almost equally awful canteen at the Ministry of Truth.

Bush House was used by many celebrities, including Sir Paul McCartney, for his broadcasts to Russia. This was Britain’s mouth-piece to the world.

As with most if not all  institutions, the BBC has elements of good and bad. Honest journalists and even writers of the calibre of Orwell were up against and compromised by agents of the Political Warfare Executive which says it all really.

Truth is the first casualty of war and in a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act..

The World Service vacated the premises in the summer of 2012.

With #OpBBC planned for 1st June 2013 to bring to the attention of the executive, staff and members of the public concerns regarding paedophilia and the grooming of children, the TV tax, tax dodging, the dissemination of truth and a range of other issues it is worthwhile trying to understand the legacy applications and the dynamics at play within the state broadcaster that currently prevent transparency and to have an open dialogue about the BBC’s place in the 21st century and internet age.

We shouldn’t let Savile and others legacy be the dismantling of the BBC as it is as British as a cup of tea and produces world-class natural history programmes, sporting coverage and documentaries and without incessant advertising and other forms of commercialism. But it is compromised by other factors, mainly state control and groupthink.

We need to understand how the BBC works and forensically examine where the blockages to transparency are occurring and rectify it.

As paying customers it shouldn’t really be the job of protesters to ensure we aren’t handing over hard cash only to be lied to and to have twisted wizards groom us from childhood and illusionists try to sabotage our minds through the Eastenders program-me, the CBeebies program-me, the 6 O’Clock News program-me, the Newsnight program-me, the Question Time program-me and of course the Jim’ll Fix-it programming.

One suggestion would be to transform the Programme to the Program. Television is a medium where you just sit back and passively soak up an illusion of reality induced into an alpha wave state of mind as your brain mistakes pixels for atoms and compression ratios and algorithms for form and movement.

The programming is already breaking down. Where once there was a solitary television channel now there are millions. Where once everyone had to watch a certain programme at a certain time – now you can view at your convenience. Where once you were trapped in your living room or bedroom – now you can watch anywhere you like.

What we really mean though by ‘reprogramming the programme’ is for the public – interested groups and individuals to collaborate with the BBC to create software tools and frame-works that make it more difficult for any hidden agenda to twist the truth.  The BBC should also look to involving citizen journalists and hyper-local news to provide a broader picture of what is happening in the world. This should not be seen as a vast transitory slave workforce to be exploited however.

This will look a lot different from stage-shows like the QT programming where questions as well as answers are carefully scripted, the same panellists appear again and again and audience members are hand-picked.

Imagine a feature for example whereby in real-time every utterance from the talking heads that appear on debate shows and news programming was checked and verified against trusted data-sets that could indicate when they are lying?

The BBC should work with the public in making its vast archives freely accessible, searchable and shareable thus enriching the commons. This would also act as a distributed archiving solution that would help to ensure material is not lost forever by single points of failure.

Whilst we have concerns as to elements and policies within the management of the Beeb we are also in no doubt there are hundreds of honest creative people who are already thinking about or even working on similar minded projects within the corporation or in their own time. It would be informative to hear what they have to say.

If we don’t program then we will be programmed at will by the hypnotist that skulks in the corner of the living room. This is why they call it program me.

We don’t really want to hear your agenda-based opinion on the news we just want the facts. We don’t really want you to decide what is news in the first place as we think censorship should be censored. Data is King, let it speak instead.

The BBC should still be a people-powered institution, just tempered by incorruptible and transparent software protocols that the people whether they be British or our brothers and sisters around the world can call upon in times of need when their voices need to be heard and cause for truth and justice defended.

We need to ensure the opposite is not the case where the all-powerful state uses it to spread lies, to censor dissent, to fiddle with our kids and to mind control us all.

Some suggestions for reformation of the BBC

To stop competing with commercial channels in light entertainment – talent shows, reality tv, Monarch programming etc
To rediscover principles of public service
To give the license fee payer more of a say in how the institution is run by appointing members of the public onto the Trust or abolishing the Trust altogether for a more socially equitable mixture of people
To trim down executive salaries to more realistic levels of remuneration. The more you pay someone, the less they think they have to do especially when supping from the teat of the tax-funded sacred cash-cow of neverending milk and honey
To make their tax structure more equitable and in keeping with their own rhetoric
To open the archives for forensic examination by the public
For the EU funding to be forbidden by contract. Why should their millions, which is really our millions, outstrip the billions the British public hand over in the expectation we will get unbiased news coverage and not propaganda from a Vassal of an imploding federalist super-state?
To explore other revenue generators and cost savings with the mind to cut or abolish altogether the TV tax

New Space Transporter on the Horizon?

A ‘curious’ news story regarding radiation tests Curiosity carried out on its way to Mars emerged this evening. Is this a priming event for a forthcoming space-tech announcement?

‘At the moment, given existing chemical propulsion technology, Mars transits take months.

“The situation would be greatly improved if we could only get there quite a bit faster,” Dr Zeitlin told BBC News.

“It is not just the dose rate that is the problem; it is the number of days that one accumulates that dose that drives the total towards or beyond the career limits. Improved propulsion would really be the ticket if someone could make that work.”

New types of propulsion, such as plasma and nuclear thermal rockets, are in development. These could bring the journey time down to a number of weeks.’

The three duties of the Bards of the Isle of Britain

‘The bards were the learned order of the Britons. It seems a mistake to take the Bards and Druids as two sundry classes of men, as the Druids were of the learned order, and therefore bards; though, when, upon the conversion of the Britons to Christianity, the Druids lost their office, the name of bard remained only on the other branches of the learned order.

A bard’s person was holy. He bore no weapon, and no weapon  was to be holden naked in his presence. Caesar says: – “The Druids are wont to abstain from war, nor do they pay taxes with others, and enjoy freedom from war service, and an immunity from all things;”…

…A Triad (the old Welsh historic poems) says, “The three necessary duties of the bards of the Isle of Britain – 1st, to manifest the truth, and to declare it; 2nd, to maintain a memorial of praise for what shall be good and excellent; and 3rd, to make peace prevail over anarchy and devastation.” – Barddas.’

The goddess Nerthus

‘In Germania, Tacitus records that the remote Suebi tribes were united by their veneration of the goddess at his time of writing and maintained a sacred grove on an (unspecified) island and that a holy cart rests there draped with cloth, which only a priest may touch. The priests feel her presence by the cart, and, with deep reverence, attend her cart, which is drawn by heifers (virgin cows). Everywhere the goddess then deigns to visit, she is met with celebration, hospitality, and peace. All iron objects are locked away, and no one will leave for war. When the goddess has had her fill she is returned to her temple by the priests. Tacitus adds that the goddess, the cart, and the cloth are then washed by slaves in a secluded lake. The slaves are then drowned.’

In the image above the cows are shown as white, and this could possibly relate to the Chillingham cattle of Northumberland. The man on the left is wearing the caw, or band, of a full bard, or Druid of ancient Briton. He also appears to be holding a divining rod. The other men wear white robes, signifying their class of bard as ‘Ovydd (Ovate)’, or herald bard, also known as ‘Gwynvardd’ – a white bard. On their cart is the goddess, with two outstretching heads, not dissimilar to descriptions of the Ark of the Covenant.

Is the iPhone a prototype for an artificially intelligent monolith…and if so, what does it mean?

It was recently discussed on the David Icke Forums the speculation on another forum as to whether the iPhone was evolving into the same dimensions as the 2001: Space Odyssey monolith and also exhibiting its own embryonic forms of artificial intelligence with apps like siri already passée.

Smart-phones are not the only devices to be housed in black ‘cubes’. As previously mentioned in the Consoles of Saturn post, the main video-game platforms are also mainly ‘black cubes’ with names like Sega Saturn, XBox 360 and GameCube.

You’ll find this same theme everywhere you look technology-wise from flat-screen television sets, monitors, external hard-disks, PC boxes, amplifiers and cameras. Even a classic black computer keyboard has a series of black cubes that you press to issue commands and to access ‘cyberspace’ which means ‘kaaba-space’.

If the iPhone is an embryonic prototype of an A.I. monolith, will future space-historians interpret the Apple logo of the bitten fruit and link it directly with the biblical story of Adam and Eve and forbidden knowledge?

The monolith is of the dimensions 1:4:9 so maybe the way the device is developing, height-wise at least, the iPhone 6 will match this specification although the trend would indicate it will also become thinner as well as taller?

The Savile Files

As part of ‘Teh Savile Files’ project worked on earlier in the year and shortly to be released, we have been experimenting in data-journalism using a variety of presentation formats to try to make sense of vast data-sets.  One such format is the ‘JSON Sunflare’, a web-based application that allows you to create hierarchical maps based on a central nodal point.

The nodal point in this particular example is Jimmy Savile.

It is worth pointing out that not every name, group or institution included in the map are guilty of any crimes associated with Savile and many are in fact his victims or unwitting associates.

The map provides an overview of how far his tentacles stretched into public life and the nation as a whole.

The Ancient Cattle of Chillingham

At Chillingham Castle in Northumberland, England, there exists a rare ancient breed of cattle consisting of about 90 animals which inhabit a very large park that has existed since at least the Middle Ages. Behind a dry stone enclosure this herd has remained genetically isolated for hundreds of years, surviving despite their small population. These cattle are not domesticated in any way, further claims suggest that Chillingham Wild Cattle may be direct descendants of the primordial ox “which roamed these islands before the dawn of history“;

‘Chillingham cattle are small, with upright horns in both males and females. Bulls weigh around 300 kg, cows about 280 kg. They are white with coloured ears (they may also have some colour on feet, nose and around the eyes). In the case of Chillingham Cattle, the ear-colour is red – in most White Park animals the ears are black (which is genetically dominant over red in cattle). Chillingham Cattle are of generally primitive conformation while White Parks are of classical British beef conformation.’

The researcher Alan Wilson claims Chillingham cattle were the original holy cattle of the Druids who once inhabited Britain. The cattle were sacred to the Druids, as can be seen in this text from Mysteries of the Druids (1861) by W. Winwood Reade:

‘When the new year approached, the Druids beset themselves to discover this plant (mistletoe) upon an oak, on which tree it they marched by night with great solemnity towards the spot, inviting all to join their procession with these words: The New Year is at hand: let us gather the mistletoe.

First marched the Ovades in their green sacrificial robes leading two milk-white bullocks. Next came the bards singing the praises of the Mighty Essence, in raiment blue as the heavens to which their hymn ascended. Then a herald clothed in white with two wings drooping down on each side of his head, and a branch of vervain in his hand encircled by two serpents.

He was followed by three Derwydd (Druids) one of whom carried the sacrificial bread–another a vase of water-and the third a white wand. Lastly, the Arch-Druid, distinguished by the tuft or tassel to his cap, by the bands hanging from his throat, by the scepter in his hand and by the golden crescent on his breast, surrounded by the whole body of the Derwydd and humbly followed by the noblest warriors of the land.

An altar of rough stones was erected under the oak, and the Arch-Druid, having sacramentally distributed the bread and wine, would climb the tree, cut the mistletoe with a golden knife, wrap it in a pure white cloth, slay and sacrifice the bullocks, and pray to God to remove his curse from barren women, and to permit their medicines to serve as antidotes for poisons and charms from all misfortunes.’

M James Bond

Charles Henry Maxwell Knight OBE, known as Maxwell Knight, (b. Mitcham, Surrey, 4 September 1900 – 27 January 1968) was an English spymaster, naturalist and broadcaster, whilst reputedly being a model for the James Bond character M.

After World War II, in 1946, Knight, who had since childhood been an ardent naturalist, began what was to become a successful broadcasting career on BBC radio, appearing in and hosting such programmes as NaturalistCountry Questions and Nature Parliament. He appeared occasionally on television in Peter Scott’s Look and Animal, Vegetable or Mineral and published 34 books and wrote magazine articles. His broadcast career progressed alongside his MI5 work until 1956 when he retired early, from MI5, on the grounds of ill health, suffering from angina. He died in Midgham, Berkshire from heart failure in 1968.
