Further thoughts on Boudica’s ‘Andred’

by totalgooched

In a previous piece we speculated on the origins of the goddess invoked by the Briton Queen Boudica in her famous last stand against the Roman invaders, in 67 AD.

https://5ocietyx.wordpress.com/2014/04/22/andred-ancient-goddess-of-the-druids/

On page 177 of Richard Carlyon’s excellent book ‘A Guide to the Gods’ we find a description of the Greek goddess Nemesis.

Nemesis

Goddess of destiny; alias Adrasteia, ‘the inevitable’

7

Wikipedia has a listing for ‘Adrestia (Greek: Ἀδρήστεια) in Greek mythology ‘she who cannot be escaped’ was the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite and known to accompany her father Ares to war. She was venerated as a goddess of revolt, just retribution and sublime balance between good and evil. Because of her role in revenge and retribution, she was usually portrayed with Nemesis, and sometimes identical to Nemesis herself, who had the epithet of Adrestia or Adrasteia.’

Were the Greeks known to the Druids, or more importantly, were the Druids known to the Greeks? The answer is, yes. In fact, the Greeks believed that the study of philosophy originated with the barbarian magicians, such as the Druids.

‘The earliest record of the druids comes from two Greek texts of c. 300 BCE: one, a history of philosophy written by Sotion of Alexandria, and the other a study of magic widely attributed to Aristotle. Both texts are now lost, but were quoted in the 2nd century CE work Vitae by Diogenes Laertius.[55]

Some say that the study of philosophy originated with the barbarians. In that among the Persians there existed the Magi, and among the Babylonians or Assyrians the Chaldaei, among the Indians the Gymnosophistae, and among the Celts and Gauls men who were called druids and semnothei, as Aristotle relates in his book on magic, and Sotion in the twenty-third book of his Succession of Philosophers.

— Diogenes Laertius, Vitae, Introduction, Section 1[56]

Subsequent Greek and Roman texts from the third century BCE refer to “barbarian philosophers”,[57] possibly in reference to the Gaulish druids.’

So its quite possible that the Greeks took some of the gods of their pantheon from the Druids, whom they considered philosophically superior, with Adrasteia being just one such goddess.

So in light of this information, wouldn’t it make much more sense that Boudica – who, having been humiliated by the Romans when they raped her daughters and stole her land, was leading a revolt against the invaders – was instead invoking the goddess of revolt, retribution and justice ‘Adrasteia’, rather than ‘Andrasta’, who was merely a mother goddess loosely associated with war? The incident with the hare seems to suggest that an element of redressing balance was present in the ritual performed by Boudica in that field many years ago, a retribution that would eventually befall the Romans, when centuries later it would be the Welsh Briton Queen Helena who effectively brought about the dissolution of their empire, by encouraging her son Constantine to adopt Christianity as the official religion.

South Downs pre-Roman ‘farming collective’ discovered

by totalgooched

‘Evidence of a prehistoric “farming collective” has been discovered after aerial laser scanning was carried out in the South Downs National Park.

Large-scale farming from before the Roman invasion suggests a high level of civilisation, archaeologists said.

The survey also revealed the route of a long-suspected Roman road between Chichester and Brighton.

It covered an area between the Arun river valley in West Sussex and Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire.’

Annie Besant

by totalgooched

Annie Besant (1 October 1847 – 20 September 1933) was a prominent British socialist, theosophist, women’s rights activist, writer and orator and supporter of Irish and Indian self-rule.

‘For Besant, politics, friendship and love were always closely intertwined. Her decision in favour of Socialism came about through a close relationship with George Bernard Shaw, a struggling young Irish author living in London, and a leading light of the Fabian Society. Annie was impressed by his work and grew very close to him too in the early 1880s. It was Besant who made the first move, by inviting Shaw to live with her. This he refused, but it was Shaw who sponsored Besant to join the Fabian Society. In its early days, the society was a gathering of people exploring spiritual, rather than political, alternatives to the capitalist system.[13] Besant began to write for the Fabians. This new commitment – and her relationship with Shaw – deepened the split between Besant and Bradlaugh, who was an individualist and opposed to Socialism of any sort. While he defended free speech at any cost, he was very cautious about encouraging working-class militancy.

In 1890 Besant met Helena Blavatsky and over the next few years her interest in theosophy grew while her interest in secular matters waned. She became a member of the Theosophical Society and a prominent lecturer on the subject. In 1902, she established the first overseas Lodge of the International Order of Co-Freemasonry, Le Droit Humain. Over the next few years she established lodges in many parts of the British Empire. In 1907 she became president of the Theosophical Society, whose international headquarters were in Adyar, Madras, (Chennai).

In 1901 Annie Besant wrote a book titled Thought Forms, describing them in detail. The book divides them into three classes: forms in the shape of the person who creates them, forms that resemble objects or people and may become “ensouled” by “nature spirits” or by the dead, and forms that represent “inherent qualities” from the astral or mental planes, such as emotions.’

Lying in the middle of the brain is part of the temporal lobe called the Ammon’s horn (Amuns Horn) or the hippocampus. In neuroanatomy, Ammon’s horn is a metaphor that relates to the gods and the brain.

Ammon’s horn is the hidden creator, king of the gods, and the lord of the thrones of the world. Amun is ‘The hidden one.’” Lord of the visible and the invisible worlds, he was the mysterious soul of the universe which reveals itself in light.

Ammon’s horn is also known as the hippocampus

The God Amun or Ammon in ancient times was usually depicted as a ram with curved horns, a man with a ram’s head, or a man with two upright plumes as a headpiece. The name cornu ammonis, Ammon’s horn, or the hippocampus, is a major component in the brains of humans where we find the clues in the secret mysteries that lie deep within each one of us; that we too can access with our own horns in prayer, séance, meditation, psychedelics and paranormal “visions.”  From gnosticwarrior.com

As well as the material anatomy of the human body, the energetic blueprint of the human being was also used by the ancients in their regalia and symbology. Note King Tut has a cobra springing from his death-mask in the position of the third eye.

Although the Naja haje (Egyptian cobra) is native to Egypt, the real meaning is a depiction of the activation of the third-eye, or pineal gland, by the kundalini force which is likened to a pair of snakes.

The caduceus symbolizes the rod as the human spine being entwined by the twin snakes of the kundalini. The wings are more of an allegorical representation of the spiritual freedom said to be gained by the kundalini process or on the other hand if problems arise then a descent into turmoil.

The correct way to drive in the EU

by 5ocietyx

rightsideofroad

As we enter the next phase of the European experiment there are still a few unanswered questions regarding uniformity across the Union. For example, we now have bananas that are the right size and shape, and our door handles are all at the same height, but what about the more important regulations, such as acceptable driving behaviour? With vehicles coming and going from Ireland to Lithuania, switching from this side of the road to that, its about time the EU settled the argument: which side of the road should we be driving on?

Of course, the only real answer is the right side. The British drive on the right side of the car, and the left side of the road, which we shall hopefully prove is the right way. We shall also show that mainland Europeans who drive on the left-hand side of the car and the right-hand side of the road are driving the wrong way.

Lets look at the etymology of the word RIGHT.

right (adj.1) “morally correct,” Old English riht “just, good, fair; proper, fitting; straight, not bent, direct, erect,” from Proto-Germanic *rekhtaz (cognates: Old Frisian riucht “right,” Old Saxon reht, Middle Dutch and Dutch recht, Old High German reht, German recht, Old Norse rettr, Gothic raihts), from the (Proto-Indo-European) PIE root *reg- “move in a straight line,” also “to rule, to lead straight, to put right” cognates: Greek orektos “stretched out, upright;” Latin rectus “straight, right;” Old Persian rasta- “straight, right,” aršta- “rectitude;” Old Irish recht “law;” Welsh rhaith, Breton reiz “just, righteous, wise”).

opposite of left,” early 12c., riht, from Old English riht, which did not have this sense but meant “good, proper, fitting, straight”

In opposition to ‘left’ (Latin ‘sinister’) we find the usual PIE root (*dek-) is represented by Latin dexter. Other derivations on a similar pattern to English ‘right’ are French ‘droit’, from Latin directus “straight;” Lithuanian ‘labas’, literally “good;” and Slavic words (Bohemian pravy, Polish prawy, Russian pravyj) from Old Church Slavonic ‘pravu’, literally “straight,” from PIE *pro-, from root *per- (1) “forward, through”

Queen Elizabeth I

Queen Elizabeth I with the globe in her right hand.

‘Right’ is a homonym, a word with (multiple, but ultimately) two meanings, one being ‘opposite of left’, and the other ‘straight’ or ‘just’. If we look at how many other words in the English language contain the word ‘right’, or derivations of it, we can clearly see the fundamental meaning. For example Upright, righteous and right-minded are simple English phrases based on ‘right’, and from the Latin ‘regere’ – which meant ‘just’, ‘correct’ etc. as well as ‘to rule’ (from the PIE root ‘reg’) – we get the following English words: erect, correct, direct, rector, reign, regal, royal, regulate, register, regular, regiment and region. The same goes for nearly all the other languages in the Proto-Indo-European family, some derivative of the word ‘right’ or its root ‘reg’ means both ‘opposite of left’ and ‘to rule/correct/straight/good’. It’s almost impossible to say something is correct without using a word that has the root ‘reg’ (one only has to read back over this piece to confirm this).

Lets say then that right is correct. Does this mean that driving on the right side of the road is also correct? A ‘No’ would seem to contradict our theory, but we are remember only talking about where you sit in the car. We must also touch on the symbolic nature of the car, and the road it drives on, if we are to draw a satisfactory conclusion regarding the correct side of the road to drive on.

We propose that the Road is a representation of the left-handed, curved, Yin or feminine principle. Unlike the Car (whom we shall also psychoanalyse) a road is passive in the act of driving, and has no moving parts. It lays ahead, stretched wide-open waiting for us to go down it. Road workers lay roads; they are covered with Yin-like broken white lines (unless its the ‘hard shoulder’), they curve and dip, and occasionally are slick and wet, bursting at the drains from the water filling their fallopian pipework. Roundabouts and circular, motherly signs guide and advise you on your journey, pleading with you to drive safely, and only occasionally asking you to ‘give way’.

A car ‘on the other hand’ can quite easily be shown to represent the right-handed, straight-line, Yang or male principle. All moving parts, a car is built on precision engineering and has a forward-pointed aerodynamic shape. Driving a car is about speed and reaction times. They are the spear, and they are the rocket. They are the penis, hard and pointed, thrusting itself into space. Looking under the hood can be equated to pulling back the foreskin, or hood, of the penis. You can be king of the road on that wide-open highway, or you can be Lewis Hamilton in Pole position, with only your helmet visible, racing to the finish line (on a round track of course, the feminine), where, if you are the victor, you can climax champagne. In evolutionary terms, to finish first would be beneficial to the continued survival of your genes. It is an instinct-driven symbol of dominance and can be traced back in Humans tens of thousand, if not hundreds of thousands of years – although in Formula 1 they don’t make the loser eat the soggy biscuit.

Lewis Hamilton coming first

Note: The act of entering a car could be said to symbolise re-entering the womb. We feel safe inside a car, strapped in surrounded by air bags, the mirrors showing a twisted, dream-like world, weird but occasionally observable, like the pineal gland third eyes are looking out of the back of the head, passively observing the world disappearing into the distance, everything in reverse.

So, linguistically, symbolically and even genetically there seems to be a good argument to suggest that sitting on the right-hand side of the car, and on the left-hand side of the road is the correct way to drive. Nearly every language in the EU would have to agree, as these languages – going right back to the invention of PIE – agree. You sit on the right side of the car, because its right, for lots of reasons. It therefore represents the male principle, which means you drive on the left hand side of the road, because the road is the female principle. And thus we have balance.

English know how to drive

English know how to drive

Of course, this is all tongue in cheek, but there is a serious point to make. If we are to live harmoniously in the new Europe, we believe it is important to retain as much of the spirit of our ancestors, and their wisdom, as we can. The example we have chosen to highlight – as well as proving finally that the British way of driving is the correct way – serves more as an examination of ancient wisdom. Still today we have words with histories that lead to the conceptual mind of early humans, which leads to enlightenment, and which in turn gives the seeker a better understanding of the whole – the material, the abstract and the spiritual. A reformation of this ancient knowledge – that is hidden within our languages, our histories, our mythologies and our symbols – is no bad thing, it would give us all a solid ground from which to build on, and a better understanding of who we are, which is essential in understanding each other. But rather, intent on seeing through their experiment and super-imposing a multi-monoculture onto Europe, our Masters are destroying some of the oldest, richest and enlightened cultures on Earth.

The destruction of culture is the destruction of ancient wisdom, as culture is only built on ancient wisdom.

The Slaving of the Giants

by 5ocietyx

giant-humans-found-in-indiana-2 There are many reports of giants throughout history, both in religious texts such as the Bible and in folklore and myth, such as the story of Fionn MacCumhaill. Steven Quayle’s excellent log of all things giants GENESIS 6 GIANTS has many reports on the discovery of giant skeletons around the ancient world, ultimately suggesting these giants to be the Nephilim – the sons of God who fell upon the daughters of the Earth – in the book of Genesis.

In his extremely informative book Mutants: On the form, variety and errors of the human body, Armand Marie Leroi describes Aristotle’s observation of the effect that castration can have on an organism. “Nearly twenty-five centuries ago, while working on a remote Aegean island, Aristotle made an observation that was at once banal, beautiful and chilling.  ‘All animals,’ he wrote, ‘if operated on when they are young, become bigger and better looking their unmutilated fellows; if they be mutilated when full grown, they do not take on any increase of size… As a general  rule, mutilated animals grow to a greater length than the unmutilated.’ By ‘mutilation’ Aristotle meant castration. Hence the banality of his observation that merely repeated facts as well known to any fourth-century Greek farmer as to any modern one.. He had taken a barnyard commonplace, that gelded rams, stallion and cockerels are larger than intact animals..”

Two types, one tall, one short.

If we refer to the fossil record we can find two types of human forms, Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon. Researcher and psychologist Stan Gooch provided us with a sober theory about human origins, that we are in fact a hybrid of these two forms of primitive man. The morphology of both of these types differed enough for us to say that they were two separate species, one was a lot smaller than modern humans, and one was taller. you could say that to Neanderthal Cro-Magnon would have resembled a giant, and Gooch actually proposed that the Bible (or similar religious texts) are the written record of Neanderthal’s meeting with Cro-Magnon, preserved by us, human beings, the rightful heirs to those two previous legacies.

Cro-Magnon vs Neanderthal

Fee Fi Fo Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman.

In the Welsh origin story of Brutus, founder of the Britons, his party of emigrants upon landing encounter only giants on the isles, whom they then proceed to chase down, fight and totally destroy.  These giants are clearly remnants of a previous race, who at this time existed only in the most isolated peninsulas of the European continent. They numbered so few they were easily eradicated by man. As stated before, Cro-Magnon was taller than humans, and had occupied Europe before humans, supplanting European Neanderthal before him, so it stands to reason that some members of the relic species Cro-Magnon could still have existed at the fringes of civilisation. it should be noted here that the tallest humans on Earth are in Denmark, Northern Europe, where giant myths are heavily prevalent.

Domestication.

Domestication of animals is believed to have begun prior to 33,000BCE, with the dog. But it would be fair to say that domestication of another kind would have taken place before this time, on a species much easier to control – humans. Slavery is said to be as old as humanity, and its not too much of a stretch of the imagination to see the control system in place today – such as our laws, codes of conduct or morals – is nothing more than the domestication of humans. Incidentally, Gooch proposed the actual hybridization event occurred around 35,000 years ago, in the approximate time frame during which domestication of animals began.

Egyptian depiction of domestication

Now, back to the meat and veg, so to speak.

Castration.

The practice of castration has persisted for thousands of years, with both domestic animals and humans. Arab slave traders, by far the most prolific and ambitious slavers ever, traded many castrated boys. ‘The Calipha in Baghdad at the beginning of the 10th Century had 7,000 black eunuchs and 4,000 white eunuchs in his palace.”[129] The Arab slave trade typically dealt in the sale of castrated male slaves. Black boys at the age of eight to twelve had their scrotum and penis completely amputated. Around 9 out of 10 bled to death during the procedure, but the high price brought by eunuchs on the market made the practice profitable.’ Castration was also used by many nations after war, where they would castrate the remaining men and boys, rather than kill them, preferring to use them as slaves. it was used by royal families to sever the family lines of those families whom they had supplanted, or whom they wanted to extinguish.

Theon Greyjoy, the character in Game of Thrones represents a castrated royal family line, both as prisoner to the Starks (Ned being a fair lord), and House Bolton.

In theory..

Is it possible that modern humans – upon discovery and subjugation of the few remaining Cro-Magnon – enslaved the giant species, and castrated any young they found along the way? if this castration punishment was happening at the same time as domestication of animals (and modern man) then humans wouldnt have failed to notice that castration in the infant stage makes for a larger being. So were the extreme giants that are according to Steven Quayle found all over the world the first attempts to control/castrate the old giant bloodlines, and create slaves out of our tall ancestors? After all, an army of giants would be very useful for a new species intent on world domination, and the relatively few remains found today could be explained by the fact that castration would have meant certain, and almost sudden, extinction of the genetic line of giants.

Our next line of investigation will be to study the skull shapes of currently known giants to determine how closely related they are to Cro-Magnon skulls.

Andred, Ancient Goddess of the Druids?

by 5ocietyx

boudica

Andred is a little-known goddess of the pre-Roman British isles, whom the Romans referred to as Andraste. It was said by Roman historian Dio that she was invoked by Boudica before the Iceni rebellion of 60AD.

Boudica’s speech, taken from Roman History, by Cassius Dio:

Let us, therefore, go against them trusting boldly to good fortune. Let us show them that they are hares and foxes trying to rule over dogs and wolves.”

When she had finished speaking, she employed a species of divination, letting a hare escape from the fold of her dress; and since it ran on what they considered the auspicious side, the whole multitude shouted with pleasure, and Buduica, raising her hand toward heaven, said:

“I thank thee, Andraste, and call upon thee as woman speaking to woman; for I rule over no burden-bearing Egyptians as did Nitocris, nor over trafficking Assyrians as did Semiramis (for we have by now gained thus much learning from the Romans!),  much less over the Romans themselves as did Messalina once and afterwards Agrippina and now Nero (who, though in name a man, is in fact a woman, as is proved by his singing, lyre-playing and beautification of his person); nay, those over whom I rule are Britons, men that know not how to till the soil or ply a trade, but are thoroughly versed in the art of war and hold all things in common, even children and wives, so that the latter possess the same valour as the men.

As the queen, then, of such men and of such women, I supplicate and pray thee for victory, preservation of life, and liberty against men insolent, unjust, insatiable, impious, — if, indeed, we ought to term those people men who bathe in warm water, eat artificial dainties, drink unmixed wine, anoint themselves with myrrh, sleep on soft couches with boys for bedfellows, — boys past their prime at that, — and are slaves to a lyre-player and a poor one too.

Wherefore may this Mistress Domitia-Nero reign no longer over me or over you men; let the wench sing and lord it over Romans, for they surely deserve to be the slaves of such a woman after having submitted to her so long. But for us, Mistress, be thou alone ever our leader.”

Dio Cassius

Published in Vol. VIII of the Loeb Classical Library edition, 1925

There are very few historical mentions of Andrad other than Dio, though some researchers have made comparisons to other goddesses, such as  NikeBellona, Magna Mater (Great Mother), Cybele, and Vacuna, as they are all goddesses who ride chariots. Our own opinion is that the Andred evoked by Boudica against the Romans bears more resemblance to the Egyptian deity Sehkmet.

Sekhmet, who is depicted as a lioness, the fiercest hunter known to the Egyptians, was seen as the protector of the pharaohs and led them in warfare. Sekhmet’s name comes from the Ancient Egyptian word “sekhem” which means “power”. Sekhmet’s name suits her function and means “the (one who is) powerful”. She also was given titles such as the “(One) Before Whom Evil Trembles”, “Mistress of Dread”, “Lady of Slaughter” and “She Who Mauls”. She was evoked before war and could only be satisfied with the blood of battle.

Of course, many researchers will be happy to dilute Andred down to the mother goddess, or the moon goddess, and there are enough connections to make a safe assumption like that. However, it is our belief that as the Romans – let alone modern pagans – were never privy to the secrets of the Druids, we cant just accept the Roman reports. We must question the orthodox viewpoint, which was based on Roman hatred of the older religion of the Britons.

We can see the Romans and the Druids held opposite religious beliefs. Dio states that when Boudica released a hare as a divination technique  ‘it ran on what they considered the auspicious side‘. Maybe he said this because the Britons’ auspicious side was the opposite to the Roman side. Romans would divine with birds, so if a bird flew to the left (sinistra) it was a bad omen.

Were Boudica and her people practising a left-handed religion? The Druidic tradition perhaps? And was the ‘rebellion’ of 61AD just about Boudica’s mistreatment?  The passage of time between the two events doesnt suggest so, especially when we look at the other event of the year 61, the destruction of the Druid base at Anglesey. Were Boudica, and the number of British tribes who supported her trying to make one last strike for the rebellion against the Romans, a rebellion which had been virtually non-stop since the apparent Roman ‘invasion’? It couldnt have escaped Boudica’s attention that the Druids – the highest spiritual authority bar none in pre-Roman Europe – were about to be destroyed forever. As a result of the Iceni rebellion the Roman forces were drawn away from Anglesey, did this allow some Druids to escape and go into hiding?

A curious reference comes from the Anglo-Saxons. A beautiful ancient forested area in the English county of Sussex known as ‘The Weald’ had by Anglo-Saxon times retained the name Andredes weald, meaning “the forest of Andred”.

Andred's forest

Could this forest have been a sacred grove of the Druidic goddess Andred? Interestingly, the Weald encompasses Ashdown forest, the scene not only of the Winnie the Pooh books, written by British Intellience asset AA Milne, but also of the infamous Druidic ritual of WWII, where Crowley, Flemming, Churchill et al gathered to repel the German forces.

Roman conquest of Britain: The Iceni rebellion

by 5ocietyx

Iceni coin, circa AD61

The Iceni were allies of the occupying Romans, but when Prasutagus the Iceni king and husband of the famous queen Boudica died he left his kingdom jointly to his daughters and the Roman emperor. The Romans, who only believed in paternal inheritance, ignored this and annexed the kingdom. Betrayed, the queen Boudica was flogged, her daughters raped.

In AD 60 or 61, the Roman governor of Britain Gaius Suetonius Paulinus was busy leading a devastating campaign on the Welsh island of Mona (Anglesey), a suspected hide-out for the British rebels. It was during this time, and apparently because of her disrespectful treatment at the hands of the Romans, Boudica led a united army of British tribes to revolt against the Romans.

A passage in Dio Cassius suggests Boudica used divination, and summoned the power of  Andraste, an ancient mystical British goddess:

“Let us, therefore, go against [the Romans], trusting boldly to good fortune. Let us show them that they are hares and foxes trying to rule over dogs and wolves.” When she [Boudica] had finished speaking, she employed a species of divination, letting a hare escape from the fold of her dress; and since it ran on what they considered the auspicious side, the whole multitude shouted with pleasure, and Boudica, raising her hand toward heaven, said: “I thank you, Andraste, and call upon you as woman speaking to woman … I beg you for victory and preservation of liberty.”

The army’s first port of call was the Roman-occupied Camulodunum (Colchester), former capital of the Trinovantes tribe. Boudica’s army overran the Romans, besieging the poorly defended survivors in their temple for two days before the city fell. Archaeology shows it was methodically demolished. The now legendary Legio IX Hispana (the Ninth Legion) were destroyed here, only the commander and some of his cavalry escaped. Still not satiated, Boudica and her army headed towards Londinium, a small Roman settlement barely twenty years old.

Roman Londinium

The Romans evacuated and abandoned Londinium. Archaeology shows that within the bounds of Roman Londinium a thick red layer of burnt debris covering coins and pottery dating before AD 60, whilst Roman-era skulls found in the Walbrook in 2013 were potentially linked to victims of the rebels. Verulamium (St Albans) was next to be destroyed.

In the three settlements destroyed, between seventy and eighty thousand people are said to have been killed. Tacitus says that the Britons had no interest in taking or selling prisoners, only in slaughter by gibbet, fire, or cross. Dio’s account gives more detail; that the noblest women were impaled on spikes and had their breasts cut off and sewn to their mouths, “to the accompaniment of sacrifices, banquets, and wanton behaviour” in sacred places, particularly the groves of Andraste. A lot of the more salacious information should be taken with a pinch of salt, as the Romans had no real way of knowing what happened to the cities after they had abandoned them.

The governor Suetonius regrouped his forces in the West Midlands, and despite being heavily outnumbered, defeated the Britons in the Battle of Watling Street.

The historian Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus tells us the crisis had almost persuaded Nero to abandon Britain when the victorious Suetonius decided to further punish the rebels, but an investigation headed by Nero led to Suetonius being replaced as governor by the more conciliatory Publius Petronius Turpilianus.

Could the traditional view of the Iceni rebellion beginning with a woman betrayed be another Roman invention which has passed over into common acceptance?

The fact is Boudica’s husband Prasutagus died in 50AD, and her ‘rebellion’ was not until eleven years later, eighteen years after the inital Roman ‘invasion’.  Prasutagus hadnt even faced the Roman’s as enemies on the battle field either, preferring to swear loyalty to the Romans in 43AD. Boudica displayed a knowledge of the old religion, summoning the goddess Andrad on the battle field, a goddess of whom virtually nothing is known. And finally, one other decisive event in British history was also happening at exactly the same time as the Iceni rebellion – The destruction of the Druid stronghold of Anglesey in Wales.

Map of Anglesey

Anglesey was the site of the Druidic sacred groves, and was possibly the centre of all Druidic knowledge and training. This was why it was so important for the Romans to completely destroy these ‘barbarian priests’ of the British isles, which was the European centre of the extremely ancient, influential and troublesome religion. As stated by Dio, Boudica also sacrificed prisoners of her rebellion in groves dedicated to the godddess Andraste.

Corduene (also known as GordueneCordyeneCardyeneCardueneGordyeneGordyaeaKordueneKorchaykGordian, Hebrew:קרטיגיני ) was an ancient region located in northern Mesopotamia, present-day south-eastern Turkey and northern Iraq.

It has been cited as the country of the Carduchians (Kardashians?), a fertile mountainous district, rich in pasturage. The three principalities of CordueneMoxoene, and Zabdicene are referred to as Carduchian dynasties by Toumanoff. The Kingdom of Gordyene emerged from the declining Seleucid Empire and for most of its history, it was a province of the Roman Empire and acknowledged the sovereignty of Rome. From 189 to 90 BC it enjoyed a period of independence. The people of Gorduene were known to have worshipped the Hurrian sky God Teshub.

19th-century scholars, such as George Rawlinson, identified Corduene and Carduchi with the modern Kurds, considering that Carduchi was the ancient lexical equivalent of “Kurdistan”. This view is supported by some recent academic sources which have considered Corduene as proto-Kurdish or as equivalent to modern-day Kurdistan.

Jewish sources trace origins of people of Corduene to marriage of Jinns of King Solomon with 500 beautiful Jewish women. The same legend was also used by the early Islamic authorities to explain origins of Kurds.

Djinn straight from the bottle

Children of the Djinn (taken from The Forbidden Legacy of a Fallen Race by Andrew Collins)

‘The angel-worshipping cults of Kurdistan see themselves only as descendents of the patriarch Noah, the saviour of humanity whose direct family settled in their land. In contrast, the Kurdish Jews preserve a very curious story concerning the origins of their gentile neighbours, whom they refer to as “children of the djinn”. They say that long ago King Solomon ordered 500 djinn to find him 500 of the most beautiful virgins in the world. They were not to return until every last one was in their possession. The djinn had set about their immense task, going to Europe to seek out the maidens. Finally, after gathering together the correct number, the djinn were about to return to Jerusalem when they learnt that Solomon had passed away. In a dilemma, the djinn decided what to do. Should they return the girls to their rightful homes in Europe, or should they remain with them? Because the young virgins had “found favor in the eyes of the jinn, the jinn took them unto themselves as their wives. And they begot many beautiful children, and those children bore more children… And that is the way the nation of the Kurds came into being”.

In another version of the same story, 100 genies are dispatched by Solomon to search out 100 of the world’s most beautiful maidens for his personal harem. Having achieved this quota, Solomon then dies and the 100 genies decide to settle down with the maidens amid the inaccessible mountains of Kurdistan. The offspring of these marriages result in the foundation of the Kurdish race, “who in their elusiveness resemble their genie forefathers and in their handsomeness their foremothers”.’

Etymology

If we break the syllables down in the word ‘Corduene’ – and its modern equivalent ‘Kurdistan’ – we have two words, ‘Cor’ and ‘duene’. The first word is quite obviously the Proto-Indo-European root ‘Kerd‘, which means ‘core’ or ‘heart’ (see also Latin ‘Cor’). Is it possible the second word – with its unusual second letter ‘U’ – is a root of the word ‘duende‘, the Spanish folklore equivalent to the Arabic ‘Djinn‘? As well as possessing the same first letter as duende ‘Djinn’ also has an unusual second letter, and It is curious to note that the Kurdish people themselves attribute their origin to a mixture of Jewish virgins and Djinn fathers. Another word that has a similar first and second letters is ‘Twin‘. In fact, it’s quite remarkable how the PIE root ‘dwo’ sounds like the first part of ‘duende’. ‘dwo’ was equivalent to the modern English word ‘double’ as well as ‘two’, which reinforces the belief that the Djinn and Duende are somehow our second, or twin.

So was Corduene the ancient heartland of the Duende, or Djinn, the shadowy counterparts (and sometime parents) of the human race?

The Megalithic Wireless Internet: Cup and ring marked stones and the WiFi logo

Wherever WiFi is present you will find the WiFi logo. The logo has no functionality, it’s a symbol for the box of tricks doing the work.  The cup and ring marked motif found at all ‘end-points’ on a cup-marked ley resemble the WiFi logo except they are functional and not just symbolic or artistic. The symbol is the component and can connect with self-similar components that are designed the same way creating a wireless comms link that can stretch across the country and around the world.

Are megaliths the hardware; the hard-disks, memory, transmitters, and batteries? Are the cup-marks the industry standard protocols? the telluric energy the power and data combined that uses the backbone of underground streams as carrier waves?

It is suggested that these cup and ring marked networks were not so much for data transfer but acted as some kind of firewall protecting dwellings by diverting negative energy around it.

It is also noted that cup-marks are nearly always carved where there is an open view. This corresponds with WiFi ‘line of sight’ conditions.

In his book ‘Ley Lines and Earth Energies’ David Cowan mentions that ‘most petroglyphs are positioned so the sun can shine on their surfaces’. This is known as ‘light beam dialling’ although It would be simplistic to think of this as solar power, it is clear that sunlight plays an important part in these ‘spiritual machines’.

According to Carl Munck, our ancient ancestors also built a Global Positioning System by sighting pyramids, temples and stone circles around the globe on specific coordinates to delineate a global coordinate system in relation to the position of the Great Pyramid at Giza.

Evidence also suggests that our ancestors also installed a telephony system, an ancient Skype network that allowed voice messages to be transmitted over vast distances.  The aborigines of Australia for instance called the lines ‘turingas’. We will be investigating these and other possibilities including the similarities between ‘cyberspace’ and the ‘dream-time’ in subsequent posts.
